This previous week, February 19th-24th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team focused on refining the robot and preparing for competition. The Manufacturing & Design team solved issues that came up throughout the week including the elevator mechanism bending and the robot malfunctioning during drive practice. Additionally, the team completed their portion of the bill of materials, installed smaller Kraken motors onto the arm and slider mechanisms, removed access weight from the robot, and began assembling spare parts that will travel with the team to competition. The Programming team completed autonomous code functions, refined the LED strips code to change colors more efficiently, and began troubleshooting the malfunctions the robot experienced during drive practice. The MMA team completed the bill of materials, printed out and organized the business plan and safety manual, and interviewed the teams two Deans List Award candidates. The Iron Plainsmen Robotics team is very confident in the robots ability to deposit coral on all levels of the reef in both autonomous and teleop. The team is now shifting their focus to refining minuscule issues on the robot as they present themselves, creating spare parts to take to competition, and preparing the team's Deans List nominees for interviews.
