Weekly Wrap: Edition III, MMXXV

This previous week, January 21st-27th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team really honed in on specific goals and focused on completing those goals correctly before any other projects were started. The team as a whole ensured their grades were in check and that they were compliant with UIL guidelines. Meanwhile, the Manufacturing & Design team fully completed the prototype elevator mechanism and handed it off to the Programming team so they could code its motors. The Manufacturing & Design team also completed a prototype for a coral station ramp concept that they will continue to carry out. Additionally, the group began refining the elevator mechanism for competition use rather than just driver practice use, prototyping an algae and ground coral intake, and generating designs for a Limelight cover. The Manufacturing & Design time has made tremendous progress this week, specifically with the elevator mechanism, and they will continue to tackle other objectives in the future. However, the Manufacturing & Design team isn't the only group that made advancements this week. The Programming team successfully programmed all motors mounted onto the elevator, as well as completed ApirlTag alignment and Limelight color detection of game pieces. The team also led driver practice and managed to scout out a couple of gifted drivers to bring along to competition. The Programming team worked closely alongside the Manufacturing & Design team to improve the elevator mechanism in order to have it perfect before the team's first competition in San Antonio, Texas! Simultaneously, the MMA team continued their daily documentation as usual, keeping it organized and easily accessible. The team also began and finished writing the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award essay rough draft and will soon begin the revising and editing process with advice from the team's mentors. The MMA team plans to focus on the Deans List Award nominee's practice interviews after the Woodie Flowers essay is edited and submitted! Overall, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team proceeds to accomplish the goals they have set for themselves and prepare for tough competition in San Antonio!
