Over the past week, the Iron Plainsmen have made progress on the robot and are feeling a great sense of pride in their accomplishments. Even though the team did not have a Monday workday, they are still on track with a competitive robot.
On Saturday, the team tackled a multitude of tasks. They began by completing the move of the electronics and wire drive, and finished securing the wires on the intake, shooter, and roller bed. They have a fully wired and powered robot. Next, the team focused on attaching the belly pan to the frame and securing the shooter hood to the robot. Then, the team fixed the mount on the intake, which had come loose from the swerve module. After that, they attached the shooter and roller bed to the frame. Finally, they created bumper mounts and put on practice bumpers.
Today, Mardi Gras, the 17th, the team focused on iterating the intake sides to improve the movement of the motor. They also made progress on the hopper design template from cardboard to polycarbonate. Next, the team finished the battery mount and moved it to ensure it was optimally positioned. Finally, the team will focus on making spare parts and conducting driver practice throughout the week.
As the Iron Plainsmen wrap up a productive week, they continue their fervor and determination into the next. The team continues to face new challenges every day and overcomes them with brand new innovations!
