The Iron Plainsmen are excited to bring you the fifth issue of their bi-weekly blog, jammed full of updates on their continual progress! These past four days, January 31st to February 3rd, the team has worked diligently to get back on schedule with their initial plan!

Saturday, the 31st, the team did not quite get caught up on the assembly schedule as planned; however, they did make spectacular progress throughout the day. The team was very proud to have finished completely cutting out all of the required parts on Saturday and finally being fully onto the assembly of all mechanisms. The intake, shooter, roller bed, and climber are in the process of assembly.

Monday, the 2nd, the team completed the reassembly of new plates for the intake system. Then, they successfully assembled the intake pivot, ensuring smooth operation, and they mounted the intake securely to the frame. Finally, the team began the process of making buttons yesterday.

Today, the 3rd, the Iron Plainsmen reached another significant milestone by assembling the shooter mechanism. As the day progressed, they also completed the fabrication of parts for the climber. Next, the team worked fervently together to achieve a rough mount of the shooter to the frame. Finally, the team made many buttons!

Though the Plainsmen are still behind on schedule, they are significantly closer to being caught up this week than they were last week. The team will continue the steady progress they make every day as they prepare for the San Antonio competition in March. Thank you so much for reading the newest Issue of Plainly Iron, and stay tuned for the next!
