Daily Brief
Today, March 5th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team discussed a new development the Programming team made regarding the elevator mechanism. The Programming team changed the orientation of movements the robot took to grab, store, and deposit a coral piece which effectively took two whole seconds off the robot's cycle time. This will be extremely effective during autonomous sand teleop at competition! Additionally, the team's lead mentor gave all members travel duties they will be in charge of and set a date that the trailer has to be fully packed by. Members began assembling materials that will be packed and after majority of the team went down to the practice field to practice with the robot! The Iron Plainsmen Robotics team looks forward to choosing and announcing this season's drivers at practice on Saturday!
Narrowed Overview
The Manufacturing & Design Team
The Manufacturing & Design team was assigned their respective travel jobs and are collectively in charge of packing the trailer with all electrical and mechanism parts the team will need in San Antonio next week. After, the team practiced driving the robot with its new improvements to get comfortable with the robot's faster speed. All members of the Manufacturing & Design team will be trying out for the drive team this Saturday!
The Programming Team
The Programming team made some changes to the robot's elevator code and was able to shave off two seconds of the cycle time to grab and deposit coral by alerting the elevator's routine. This is going to be very important in autonomous and teleop because it will allow the robot to potentially score three coral in autonomous instead of two if all goes according to plan. Additionally, the Programming team was assigned their travel jobs and began gathering electrical and technological materials to pack into the travel trailer. Finally, the team went down to the practice field to practice driving and prepare for driver tryouts this Saturday!
The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team
The MMA team received a package with more button materials so members began manufacturing buttons that will be given out at competition. The team also continued to create button designs for the team's specialty design! Additionally, the team was put in charge of their respective travel pack list and began gathering and organizing materials to be taken to San Antonio next week. The team's main focus from here on out is to complete buttons and documentation!
