Daily Brief
Today, February 25th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team focused mainly on CAD designs all around including mechanism for the robot and products for team outreach. The Manufacturing & Design team also continued assembling spare parts in the event the robot takes a heavy hit during a match or experineces other difficulties. The Programming team solely focued on AprilTag allignement and the robots ability to correctly position itself around the reef even without seeing the AprilTag in the camera view. The MMA team also continued CAD projects for a local student and furthered the team's documentation.
Narrowed Overview
The Manufacturing & Design Team
The Manufacturing & Design team finished installing the new top piece of the elevator they had to alter due to bending. With the addition of new tubing gifted by another local robotics team, members were able to make the mechanims lighter while being more structurally sound. Additonally, the team continued CAD designs for the climber mechanism they anticipate will be manufactured soon. Other members of the team focused on assembling spare parts that will be taken to competition.
The Programming Team
The Programming team focused on AprilTag centering today and has advanced the robots ability to position itself based on the AprilTags location. The robot doesnt position itself perfectly everytime it atempts to use the AprilTag allignment as of now, however, the Programming team is confident they will be able to get the robot functioning better soon. The team is very happy with how efficienlty the robot is moving during auotonmus and teleop but does recognize that there is room for improvement.
The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team
The MMA team revisited a stencil CAD project they worked on previously after it had been 3D printed and sanded. Members plan to add on to the project and CAD another stencil for a local student. Additionally, the team finally checked off the refinement of the business plan and safety manual off their priority checklist, which leaves the Dean's List Award and competition prepartion left to work on. From now on, the MMA team plans to focus on documentation and public speaking skills that will help the team gain awards at competition.
