Narrowed Overview
The Manufacturing & Design Team
The Manufacturing & Design team focused on removing as much weight from the robot as possible to prepare for competition and make the robot faster. The team removed a total of five pounds from the arm and slider mechanisms today, and keeping in mind how far away those mechanisms stick out from the center of gravity, the robot will work much faster. Other members of the team continued to work on CAD designs for the climber mechanism collectively and will send it over to their mentor once completed for finishing touches.
The Programming Team
The Programming team spent most of the day programming the new Kraken X44 motors on the arm and slider mechanisms that the Manufacturing & Design team installed yesterday. The team also recognized the LED strips they attached to the frame were not always showing the correct color for the configuration of the robot so members tackled fixing that issue today. The team hopes that within the next couple of days, the LED strips will quickly change to notify the drive team what functions the robot is operating.
The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team
The MMA team continued daily documentation and photography of the team's progress as usual, as well as wrote thank you notes to a couple of individuals and foundations that sent the team grants today. Members finally completed the business plan fully, including the bill of materials, and printed it out. Finally, they interviewed the team's two Deans List Award nominees to prepare them for tough questioning at competition.
