Daily Brief

Today, February 5th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team focused on programming and ensuring that all students were eligible. The Programming team spent some time dealing with an issue they had with the robot. After, they worked on commands that could be stacked for more efficient control of the robot and on a PID loop. The MMA team progressed on the Business Plan, the Safety Manual, and preparation for the Dean's List Award. Overall, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team had a more relaxed day, but they still completed several goals today.

Narrowed Overview

The Programming Team

The Programming team began the day with a small mishap with the robot that they spent some time resolving. After they had fixed this, however, they went on to develop chain commands that can perform multiple or bigger actions all at once from a simple control. Finally, they spent some time on a PID loop, a style of code that the team is trying out this year. PID stands for Position Integral Derivative; it is a math-based code that calculates how the robot should move as well as its speed based on the position for the most efficient movement to an AprilTag. The Programming team is hopeful for how this technique will play out for this season!

The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team

The MMA team started the day by confirming that everyone had completed the demographics form they had put out. Once this was assured, they input the information gathered from this form into the Business Plan. After, they continued refurbishing the Safety Manual and preparing for Awards in the upcoming season. Finally, they did the daily documentation and posted on the team's social media sites.
