Daily Digest: Issue XVI, MMXXV

Daily Brief

Today, January 31st, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team opened the day with a team meeting discussing goals that had been completed so far this week. The team then dispersed into its usual teams. The Manufacturing & Design team continued progression on the algae intake and fixed a mistake that had been made yesterday. The Programming team continued training students as well as completing wiring for motors. The MMA team did their daily documentation and refurbished their Business Plan for 2025. Overall, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team is still making gradual advancement as we approach our goals.

Narrowed Overview

The Manufacturing & Design Team

The Manufacturing & Design team continued prototyping the algae intake they started some days ago. The team also drilled new holes into the side arms of the mechanism in order to correct holes drilled incorrectly at a previous practice. They were able to fix the mistake pretty quickly and move on from the setback. The Manufacturing & Design team hopes to refine the two intake mechanisms as competition nears!

The Programming Team

The Programming team focused mainly on programming the algae and ground coral intake mechanisms to prepare for driver practice tomorrow. Additionally, members completed wiring the motors on the intake with assistance from the Manufacturing & Design team. Finally, the team's mentors worked with students to familiarize them with new coding functions that will be useful for autonomous and teleoperated programming. The team hopes to continue coding the motors on both intakes until the mechanisms work sufficiently.

The Marketing, Media, & Awards team

The MMA team Deans List Award nominees completed their practice questions for mock interviews that will take place as competition nears. Mentors also completed submission essays for the two nominees. Additionally, the team began updating the business plan with new sponsors, mentors, and members to take into account. The MMA team hopes to complete the business plan this week and repeat the process with the safety manual!
