Daily Brief

Today, January 28th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team debriefed goals they wish to get done including deadlines. The Manufacturing & Design team completed converting the elevator mechanism to fit the competition frame and began wiring it. The Programming team then began coding the newly wired elevator and will proceed to do so until it performs sufficiently. The MMA team finalized the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award essay after revising it and plan to officially submit it tomorrow!

Narrowed Overview

The Manufacturing & Design Team

The Manufacturing & Design team completed moving over the practice elevator to the competition robot frame and has began wiring it. The team also continued working on the ground coral intake and algae intake which the team suspects will both be finished and ready to use within the next couple days. Additionally, members began making new tread for the new wheels that will replace the old chassis wheels. Overall, the team has mostly moved from the elevator mechanism and has allocated more time to pursuing intake mechanisms.

The Programming Team

The Programming team worked alongside the Manufacturing & Design team today to complete the wiring of the competition robot elevator. Once that was finished, the team coded all the motors on the elevator including the motors on the later slider, arm, and elevator. The team spent most of their time perfecting the competition elevator today and will continue to do so tomorrow!

The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team

The MMA team began the day by sending off the Woodie Flowers Finalist essay to their mentor for proofreading and revisions. The essay was sent back with advice on how to make the essay more concise and clear which the team members took into great consideration before finalizing the draft. The team hopes to submit the final essay tomorrow! Additionally, the teams Dean's List nominees practiced interview questions and completed a self reflection analysis to better talk about themselves when the time comes.
