Daily Digest: Issue XII, MMXXV

Daily Brief

Today, January 23rd, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team began the day by discussing all tasks the teams completed yesterday and what they will be moving on to next. The Manufacturing team continued their work on the coral station ramp and began improving the mechanism to more accurately maneuver the coral game pieces. The Programming team completed all goals they had set for themselves today including completing code for motors on the elevator, arm, and later slider mechanism. The MMA team proceeded on with the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award essay and daily documentation. The Iron Plainsmen Robotics team looks forward to driving practice with the newly completed elevator mechanism!

The Manufacturing & Design Team

The Manufacturing & Design team continued to advance the coral station ramp they began yesterday. They have prototyped a ramp that can maneuver the coral game piece 90 degrees in order for the arm to deposit it onto a level on the reef. The prototype however does not locate the coral perfectly every time so the team spent most of the practice refining the mechanism. The Manufacturing & Design team hopes to work alongside the Programming team to practice driving with the working mechanism soon!

The Programming Team

The Programming team completed coding the motors for the lateral slider, arm, and elevator today! This will allow the drive team to press a button during autonomous and the elevator will adjust to a pre-programmed height of various reef levels, to which the arm can then deposit coral. The Programming team hopes to take the robot to the practice field once the task is finished and practice driving.

The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team

The MMA team continued their daily documentation and social media upkeep. The team also carried on with the writing process for the Woodie Flowers Finalist essay and generated concepts for another button design the team will exchange with other teams at competition. The MMA team hopes to complete the Woodie Flowers essay over a longtime mentor very soon to allow for ample revision time!
