Daily Brief
Today, January 18th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team opened the day with a team meeting in order to set their goals for the day. The team is very proud to announce that today they began practicing driving and doing driver try-outs! After that, a primary target of today's work for the Manufacturing & Design team was to finish the elevator version 1 mechanism, which the team meticulously strove towards all day. While the finalizing of this mechanism was crucial, the team also eagerly began to practice driving at the practice field and begin developing a ramp for the Coral station. The Programming guaranteed the practice robot was drivable for the practice many members did on the practice field. After, they focused on working with the Manufacturing & Design team on AprilTag alignment and on programming for the elevator. The MMA team worked on documentation, including setting up for a Documentation Binder, as well as finalizing a button design and making progress on the Woodie Flowers essay. Broadly, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team continues to make great advancements every single day and is eager to continue their work!
Narrowed Overview
The Manufacturing & Design Team
The Manufacturing & Design team began the day by establishing their goals: finalizing version 1 of the elevator, installing the elevator into the practice frame, and starting development of a ramp for the Coral station. They worked diligently to attach chains and motors in order to finish the two-stage elevator version 1. Much time was dedicated to the elevator, but the team did begin on a ramp for the Coral station. Since the practice robot's drivebase had been completed, it allowed multiple Manufacturing & Design team members to go down to the practice field to practice driving. Several of these members show great potential as drivers!
The Programming Team
The Programming team started the day by ensuring that the practice robot was fully drivable, preparing it to be taken down to the practice field with the drive team for practice. Additionally, they worked with the Manufacturing & Design team to allow the robot to accurately line up with AprilTags. Finally, they were able to focus on wiring the elevator–after the Manufacturing & Design team finished it–for programming. Once this is completed, they will be able to practice game scenarios for auto and teleop!
The Marketing, Media, & Awards Team
The MMA team, as well, began their day with a list of goals. They immediately set to work on their objectives; including, work on documentation, laying a ground foundation for the Woodie Flowers essay, and refining the button design for this year. The team started a folder, gathering all Daily Digest and Weekly Wrap issues, in order to prepare for when they make the Documentation Binder that will be taken to competition. Finally, The team collectively input ideas together to ensure that the button design would be of the highest quality possible.
