Daily Brief

This previous Saturday, January 4th, the Iron Plainsmen Robotics team met bright and early for the release of this year's competition REEFSCAPE®. The whole team reviewed the game animation and began breaking down point values and highlighted different strategies the team could center the robot around this season. The team determined that shooting algae isn't worth focusing on, whereas depositing coral on the first three levels of the reef could be a worthier pursuit. Additionally, the team collaborated with its mentors regarding approaches for teleop and autonomous functions vital to maximizing the teams success. The team then proceeded to the practice field where they mapped out the proportions of the reef, processor, and placement of game pieces. Finally, the team utilized swivel chairs to imitate different paths robots could execute during teleop and autonomous. The primary focus now is to generate concepts of CAD designs and begin preparing for the first competition in San Antonio, Texas.
